During my time as art director of a nationally-distributed consumer magazine, I designed hundreds of pages -- and I still love layout. I am eager to assist with your newsletters, catalogs, magazines or other publications. The Designer Next Door's approach to publication design is "consistency with variety." Consistency is achieved by establishing an underlying grid system, templates, color palettes and other style guidelines (or using your existing ones), while variety is achieved by combining these elements in novel ways, with the occasional "broken rule" to maintain visual interest. The resulting publications are both cohesive and engaging, with slightly different "flavors" for each section or feature story.
